Odesa.co (“Odesa,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy of our clients, prospective clients, developers, and website visitors. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our website (odesa.co) and our tech talent services.
1. Information We Collect
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you contact us, submit a form, book a discovery call, or engage our services. This includes:
- Contact information: name, email address, phone number, company name, job title
- Business information: company size, industry, revenue range, hiring requirements, technology stack preferences
- Communication records: emails, call notes, and messages exchanged during the engagement process
- Payment information: billing address, payment method details (processed securely by our payment processor)
We also collect certain information automatically when you visit our website, including IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and referral source. This information is collected through cookies and similar technologies described in Section 6.
When you submit a form on our website, we also record how you arrived: the page you came from, the page where you submitted the form, and campaign details such as UTM parameters and ad click identifiers (for example, Google or Microsoft click IDs). We use this to understand which pages and campaigns bring enquiries.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use personal information for the following purposes:
- To provide our staffing, recruitment, and custom development services
- To communicate with you about your engagement, including matching developer profiles and scheduling interviews
- To process payments and maintain billing records
- To send relevant service updates and communications
- To improve our website, services, and user experience
- To measure the performance of our advertising and to show relevant ads to people who visited our website
- To protect our forms and website against spam, fraud, and invalid ad traffic
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
3. Information Sharing
Odesa does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for money. The one exception is Odesa Data Partnerships, described below, where we share details only at your direction. We may share information with:
- Developer candidates who are being matched to your requirements (limited to information necessary for the matching process)
- Service providers who assist with website hosting, payment processing, email delivery, scheduling, customer relationship management, spam protection, and website analytics
- Advertising and analytics partners listed in Section 6, which receive information about your use of our website (such as pages viewed, device and browser data, and ad click identifiers) through cookies and pixels
- AI data buyers, only when you ask us to introduce your company through Odesa Data Partnerships. We share your contact and company details, and the answers you gave us, with the buyer or buyers you choose. We never receive or share your company’s data itself. A buyer may pay Odesa a referral fee if your company signs an agreement with it. You can withdraw your request at any time by emailing hello@odesa.co, but a buyer that has already received your details handles them under its own privacy policy.
- Legal authorities when required by law, subpoena, or court order
Some privacy laws, including California law, treat the use of advertising cookies and pixels for cross-context behavioral advertising as “sharing” of personal information. You can opt out of this at any time, as described in Section 9.
4. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes encrypted data transmission (SSL/TLS), secure data storage, and access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel only.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes described in this policy. Contact and business information is retained for the duration of the client relationship and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping purposes. You may request deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us at hello@odesa.co.
6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our website uses cookies, pixels, and similar technologies. We group them as follows:
- Essential: needed for the website, forms, security, and remembering your cookie choices. These cannot be disabled. This includes Google reCAPTCHA, which checks form submissions for spam and bots and sends device and interaction data to Google.
- Analytics: Google Analytics 4 (via Google Tag Manager and Google Site Kit), to measure visits and how pages are used; and Microsoft Clarity, which records heatmaps and session recordings of how visitors scroll, click, and move through pages.
- Advertising and measurement: Google Ads conversion tracking, Microsoft Advertising (Bing) Universal Event Tracking, the Reddit Pixel, the Meta Pixel, and the OpenAI (ChatGPT) advertising pixel, which measure whether our ads lead to enquiries and help show our ads to people who visited our site; and Opticks, which detects invalid and fraudulent ad clicks.
These providers process data under their own privacy policies and may combine it with other information they hold. You can opt out of analytics and advertising cookies at any time through the cookie banner or on our Opt-out preferences page, and we honor Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals from your browser. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings.
7. Third-Party Links
Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing personal information.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data: the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data; the right to restrict or object to processing; and the right to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@odesa.co. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
9. California and Other US State Privacy Rights
Residents of California and other US states with comprehensive privacy laws have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it; to access, correct, and delete it; and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising. In the past 12 months we have collected the categories of information described in Section 1 (identifiers, professional and commercial information, internet activity, and approximate location derived from IP address) for the purposes in Section 2, and disclosed them to the categories of recipients in Section 3. We do not sell personal information for money and do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information: you can opt out of advertising cookies and pixels on our Opt-out preferences page. We also treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for that browser. For other requests, email hello@odesa.co. You may use an authorized agent, and you may appeal any decision we make about your request by replying to our response.
10. International Visitors
Odesa is based in the United States, and your information is processed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers and engineers operate. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your personal information to respond to your enquiries and perform our contracts with you, for our legitimate interests in running, measuring, and improving our business and website, and to meet legal obligations. You can object to analytics and advertising cookies at any time on our Opt-out preferences page. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for international transfers. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
11. Children’s Privacy
Our website and services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact hello@odesa.co and we will delete it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was most recently revised. We review this policy at least once every 12 months.
